Biography

Following an advertising career, John joined the Questors Theatre in Ealing with leading roles in The Tempest, Quartermaines Terms, Privates on Parade, Martine and The Journalists. After training at Arts Ed London, John’s worked with Michael Ferguson, Frances De La Tour, Arnold Wesker and Turner Prize Winner, Gillian Wearing amongst others. He is fortunate to have had an exciting journey over 26 years with a little West End theatre, commercials, fringe, directing, and minor roles in film and television. John recently returned to acting after a break, but still runs a successful youth theatre and international summer school. A talented, versatile actor, he continues to write, develop new courses as well as working in The UK, Ireland and Europe. In his spare time, John is a mad all year round sea swimmer, cook, avid playreader and an incurable Queens Park Rangers fan.. He lives in Galway and London.

The Actors Centre (London) Improvisation, Auditions and Text with Frances De La Tour, Stanislavsky workshops, Commedia Del Arte courses. Self tape and drama training with Nick Dunning. John is also a drama teacher and his own Acting For The Screen courses are highly popular for Irish and international summer students.
